February Goal - Consistency
If our January goal was balance, February is being consistent. Choose something or several things to be entirely consistent with. You might have heard it takes a minimum of 21 days to build a habit—well, consider 28 days of February time to build a practice you can stay consistent with all year.
Dr. Maxwell Maltz, a plastic surgeon in the 1950s, discovered from observing his patients that it took them a minimum of 21 days to build a habit, get used to their new appearance, or adjust to new situations. For some, three weeks is the golden amount of time to create a shift; for others, it’s a starting point. Taking inspiration from the Year of the Tiger, 2022 is all about radical change. Nothing says lasting change like consistency.
A predecessor to New Year’s resolutions is quitting when the going gets tough or simply falling back into old habits because it’s easier to do so. You know, that new intermittent fasting schedule you planned seems to fall off the wagon after a night or two of midnight snacks. Remembering that once our old habits were new ones is a beacon to illuminate the journey towards a new goal.
When you’re consistent, you build momentum, trust, and loyalty. These elements help in business, personal development, and relationships, as discipline is a tool you can apply to everything. Your goal this month might be to stay consistent with exercise, your side hustle, or weekly OLAPLEX treatments. I challenge you to set a goal to be consistent overall. You will see results the longer you stick with anything, just like treating your hair with Nº.0 and Nº.3 will give you the healthiest hair possible, the more consistent you are with treatments.
Consistency is all about discipline. You are 100% capable of achieving a more tremendous potential, you just have to stick with it! Some everyday road bumps include impatience, seeking instant gratification, and triggers. Avoid them by holding yourself accountable for consistency. This month is all about growth!
